The tech at my local dealership told me there is a DS safety loop that bolts on to the existing screws drilled for the seats? It seems like all the safety loops I've seen on the net you have to drill new holes for. What's the best safety loop to get with the FRPP aluminum drive shaft? Or are they all pretty much the same?

I have a HPM loop that I got from Dallas Mustang. It is a very nice unit. The holes that need to be drilled are easy. You only have to drill 4 of them. The only thing is that you need to remove the seats and pull the carpet and a a wire bundle out of the way. It is actually a lot easaier then it sounds. Took me about an hour to do.

I ordered a driveshaft safety loop from Stangstore and it came in an HPM box. Guess that means I'll be pulling some seats, or, I might just have the guy weld it into place lol.

I have the HPM unit. Install was simple and the price was alright. You can get different kind from T&J. Theirs looks nicer than the one that I have though. I had my powdered coated black.

I had a buddy help me, and I didn't have to completely pull out the carpet. My buddy drilled the hole from under the car while I lifted up on the carpet. Just be careful not to hit any wires.

That is so true! I followed one of the mustang mag's suggestion that you could install the bolts over the carpet. DO NOT DO THIS! You will hit a wiring harness like I did. Fortuneately I stopped the second I saw a spark! I just nicked one wire - wrapped electrical tape around it and no probs. Thank god I didn't really chew it up!

BTW, I ordered the FRPP one through Jeg's and received the HPM one. Must be one in the same, or HPM just provides this part to FRPP to sell. Fits my alum. DS just fine.

I used Metco’s loop. It is a nice piece and installs much the same way as the others, though you may have to drop the mid pipe. I am not certain because I installed my loop in conjunction with an x-pipe.
I you are not concerned about cosmetics under the car, it would probably be quicker to weld the thing in.
