Hello all,

So... I have the opportunity to purchase a brand new Mustang (new to me, but used vehicles). I am unsure on which one is the better choice so I'm taking suggestions... (how much either of them cost isn't an issue)

  1. 2008 Ford Mustang
    Candy apple red
    55,000ish miles
    4.0L V6
    Manual
Ford Racing performance upgrades (Intake, dual exhaust, and I think throttle body)
Appearance package (Rear window louver, front chin-spoiler)

  2. 2011 Ford Mustang Premium
    Fire engine red
    50,000ish miles
    3.7L V6
    Automatic
    No known add-ons
So I'm kind of torn on which one to get. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Welcome! Outside of the obvious difference in appearance, I see it as a simple question of preference. Do you prefer a better engine or a manual transmission?

Welcome! I don't know anything about them but I suggest starting your own thread on it outside of this one.

Get the 2011.....hands down. It's a better car in every way over the 2006.

Even with the bolt on parts, that '06 is still down about 90hp over the 2011. Not to mention the 3.5L is smooth as silk, with decent potential.....the 4.0L is a noisy, rattley truck engine.

Also note, the '11 S197 is a better lay out than the early S197.

Honestly, the '06 shouldn't even be a consideration in this comparison.
