I have the ES 100's and love them. I got the 275/40's in the rear and am gettin 2.1 60' times consistently. They are awesome in the rain, except for the hydroplane caused by 2 feet of rear rubber. The tread is very interesting also, see picture.

I got them for about $100 a tire but my friend had a co-op their and got things at cost...

i want those tires!! i don't race the mustang. its just a daily driver, but i hear the ES100's have a good ride quality and are overall good tires. the treadwear is 280 which isn't bad. i'm still on the stock tires that are 4 years old and the treadwear are 220 on those.

i'm going to see how long it will take discount tire to get me the ES100's. my tires will still last awhile, so i think i can wait if its not too long.

also, how big of a tire can i put on the stock rims? well, i have some eagle alloy 5 star chrome wheels. i didn't get them any bigger than the stock wheels though. i was thinking of sticking with the 245/45/17 size.

Tirerack.com is a great site for shopping for tires. They have indipendent test results, customer comments and ratings, adjustable search criteria, decent pricing.

I also got the AVS ES100's. Excellent tire for handling. People complain they're a bit noisy, but hey, we drive a mustang anyway. Haven't tried them in the rain yet, but heard they were pretty good in rain also.

i never heard anything about them being a noisy tire. i heard they are a good all around tire for the price.

the ride is supposed to be smooth and better than the stock tires give.

yeah...i thought about the NITTO 555's, but went with the ES100's instead.

i dont' race the mustang, i just want a good tire that will give a good ride and will do well in the rain.

many people recommended the ES100's.
