My 69 has two different upper control arms. Obviously it got hit and someone replaced one of them with one that fits but doesn't match the other side. I'm refinishing the wheelwell and might as well take care of it now. One has a ball joint with three bolts, one has a ball joint with four. Which is the right one? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, planning on dropping a 351W and C4 in while I rebuild the stock 302 and tranny...will both engines take the same headers and exhaust systems?

Thanks

I'm not sure but I think the 3bolt/4bolt issue might have been plant specific during the 69 year, that is what I have heard somewhere so don't hold me to it. I have personally only seen 4 bolt arms in factory cars myself but most of the cars I have dealt with in my life came from San Jose.

My 67 had 4 bolt uppers and the new ones are 3 bolt. It seems like you cant get the 4 bolt ones anymore?? Unless you have a 65 or 66. I called everybody I could. I went with the Scott Drake arms. The pictures shows 4 bolt ones. But they are 3. You can get either ball joint, just not the arm. My lowers only need the ball joints. Couldnt find those either. Had to buy complete arms. And this looked so easy to start with....

Bud is correct. The 3 holer is a replacement and they are usually rivets instead of bolts.
