I'm shopping for a use Stang....was there much difference between 05 and 06 models? I see some of both on the used lots around town. Gt's go for just under 20k where I live.

So...05 or 06?

There's no difference in price? I would have thought the 06 would be more since it is newer and probably most have more warranty.
The 05 is the first of this platform if that's worth anything to anyone.

A lot of the problems which occured in the 05's were fixed for 06. I would never buy a new model car in it's first year, that's why I waited until '06.

Hmm, good point.

The 06's are more and harder to find but I'll keep looking!

Thanks guys.

What is worth more today, a 65 or a 66 mustang. To me, this new s197 is like an entire new model of vehicle to ford, can you follow what i mean? But also, most people have already had the problems fixed with their used 05's also. Think about that before you jump in the seat of an 06

I have owned a 1965 and still own a 1966. If they are comparable cars, there is very little difference in the value.

Worth pointing out that I've seen plenty of reported problems on the 06. The new gas tanks didn't seem to cure anything, the 06's had a whole world of pain with duff diffs and the knobs on the air con don't come off so you can use billet items!

No matter what car you get, make sure you read up on the TSB's so you know what to look for when driving around. Then when you notice a problem you can cite the exact TSB and let the dealer deal with it.
