I am now getting a squeaky whine that appears to be coming from one of my pulleys. It is not the supercharger, because that has a distinct whine and i know what it sounds like, and its not the supercharger pulley. I believe i have read that idler pulleys squeaking seems to be a common problem. Has this happened to anyone else? Will i be able to just WD-40 the ****** more or less, or do i have to buy a new idler pulley?

could be bad news

it is a possibillity that your timing cover has a crack, if the idler pully has been removed and torqued too much, that could be it, otherwise it sounds like the belt

The bad idler pulleys i have heard made a slaping type noise because the pulley becomes worn away from the center bearing but anythings possible

check the clucth. I know with my 00 GT when i idled sometime the clutch would squeak some. take ur foot of the clutch and let it sit there and squeak. then just barely push down maybe an inch max on the clutch pedal to see if it stops.
