I have what sounds to me like a whing noise coming from the rear of the car.
I don't hear it when I press th gas pedal but when I take my foot off of the gas I get the sound.
The sound also goes away as soon as I press in on the clutch. It seems to me that as soon as there is no pressure on the driveshaft and rear end then it's ok.
Anyone have this problem?

ive got the same problem as you ive got a 3:73 gear but was in the car when i bought it and the car has done that sense i bought it 1000k miles ago it seems to be fine but would love to fix it good luck finding the problem

If it happens whterh you are moving or not it could be the throw out bearing. If only when you are moving and it shoudl be speed sensitive then it is likely the gears (if you have them)...

Otehrwise I would think that it is one of the rear end bearings, probably a pinion bearing if it happens only when moving....

I get that same noise on deceleration but only if I go above 90mph (not very often), and I have 3.73's. I am told its not that uncommon, but something tells me the gears weren't put in right.
