whining tranny?

whining is usually a bearing making noise. i usually dont get to worried about it either. a stick trans will make a LOT of noise before it physically dont work.

the first time i took my buddy for a ride in my torino, he thought a cop was behind us when i backed off it the thing whines so bad. i guess thats what happens when it gets beet on for 34 years.

Wait til/or if you guys dump synthetic fluid in there! I thought I single-handedly destroyed mine after I poured in some B&M Trick Shift. Also bolting on an aftermarket billet shifter makes the whine go right up through the shifter instead of it being "eaten" by the rubber bushing in the stocker. Add a billet handle and you've just added an amplifier to it! Oh well - whine or not, mine works well!

A friend of mine had an older dodge pick up truck. The tranny had a very loud whinning to it mainly when accelerating. We found out that the noise was coming from the yoke, it was loose. The day we were gonan fix it he stripped the rear end gears. It would have been fine if he just tightened it up. Maybe you guys should make sure everything is tightened down ??? just my .02
