So I am planning out this years mods and have my fuel system figured out (thanks 04sleeper) but am unsure of the blower I want.

My goals are only 650ish rwhp but may want more in the future. The new Whipple 3.4 is a bad ass but is pricey plus it needs new fuel rails to fit.
Will the 2.3 still be efficent at that power level or should I get the bigger huffer?

I will be doing the Fiore Fuel hat with dual GT pumps and the dual driver mod. I will also run -8 lines and 80lb injectors so my fuel will be handled just fine.

The 2.3 is $3110 shipped.
The 3.4 is $3700 + shipping then another $500 +/- for the rails.

Laser, just go with the 2.3L. The new rails require you to modify the hood.

Plus, 650RWHP will be useless. Mine is almost 600RWHP with 17psi and it's useless. I'll easy it in 2nd high in the RPM's and the milisecond I give it more gas, it's spinning the tires, sometimes it gets squirrly. You got my PM the other day right?? I spun with those two cars while I was putting lengths on them....

You can change the 3.00" 17psi pulley to a 2.75" and get 21-23psi, putting you over 600RWHP. Plan on getting some 18" BFG Drag Radials. They hook my tuners car making 780RWHP and he is running 9's spinning the tires.

Look at this 3.4L Whipple....no traction.

Dude i'd love to see the big boy under there. By "may want more later", how much more? I always like the idea of having a little room for growth. SVT32VDOHC made a good point too, and he's actually got a Termi, but if you plan to upgrade later then go all out now.

IDK, guess the big one will only be for bragging rights. I don't need that much power. 200 more then I have now will be enough of a shock. When I drove a twin turbo 650hp Viper I damn near chit myself

Yea your right. I mean you'll be able to make a ton of par with the 2.3 and IF you ever want more then spray is also an option.

If you would like to keep running 93 octane pump gas then stick with the 2.3. If you want to run race gas only, then go 3.4.

Even with the largest upper pulley on the 3.4 and stock lower, you will be at 24 lbs of boost or so.
You will have to run a lower pulley to lower the boost. I would not run a lower if it were my car. (You were there when Foofinator's crank snout broke off because of the 3.4 and lower.)

Trust me, a true 600 RWHP car is nothing to sneeze at.

If your gonna do it, go big man.

You can always de-tune it to keep the power reasonable, but you know the potential is there for it later.

Yeah but Kevin is right. After doing a little reserch it seems with the slowest spinning pully setup the 3.4 will still make 20 psi. I only want to run 17 at first then pump it to 19. Anything higher and I will need to add some race fuel or meth and I dont really want to do eaither

Damn i didn't know there was such a huge diff between 19 and 20lbs. Well i agree then, i wouldn't want to run around running race gas all the time either.

i dont have a whole lot of experience with chargers for these cars ... but personally (even being 21) i dont see the point of going over 600 hp...

its just too much power, especially for a street driven car... Once you break the 500 hp mark, its all about who gets it to the ground... a 400 hp mustang might beat an 800hp mustng if he gets his tires to stick..
most of the cars built with a chit load of power like that are gear to go 200mph... no matter what tires you have(street), the laws of friction fail with that much power..

id say go 2.3L... personally im a big fan of the Kenne Bell chargers... the noise they make is just to die for lol..
the 2.3L should take you to the power levels you want and beyond... but lets be honest, a 750 to 850 hp mustang isnt gonna be able to really use it..

id stay at 600-650 hp... enjoy the car and have fun with it... unless your plans are for the salt flats and 220mph... lol

I like the KB bu the Whipple looks nicer and the Gen II is the most efficient one out
That being said, all the videos I saw the Whipple sounds quiet I want it to be louder then the Eaton, I love that sound

i remember there was a thread on svtp about the 2.3 being a better blower for 19 psi and under, and the 3.4 20 and up. You have to match the blower to the sweetspot of psi for efficiency.
