I have a White 05 GT. I have noticed that the paint on the rear bumper doesnt match the rest of the car well. It dont know if the paint is fading on the bumper or getting discolored somehow, but it definately doesnt match perfectly. Maybe I am just too anal about it, but I can definately notice it. Let me know if anyone notices it on theirs.

Thanks.

I was reading about this same thing on another board. It seems white cars are having the paint start to yellow, especially on plastic parts. One guy fought with Ford until they finally agreed to repaint the pieces. I believe his car was an 04 Cobra. Id take it to your dealer..

Thanks for the info. What board did you see this in?

Thanks

hey I have a white V-6 and I noticed that by the rear wheel well, it seems there seems to be a "coating"(I dont know how to describe it)on the bumper, it almost looks like I could take something and start peeling it off..
gosh I wish I could get a good picture of it or describe it better.
I have not noticed anything turning yellow though..

i am a body man and plastic parts do tend to show a different color than metal parts do. its the biggest problem for bodyshops to paint just a bumper and have it match, but who is going to pay to blen the color onto the decklid and 1/4 panels---nobody. sometimes the body shop will repaint it before the customer sees it, and other times they will just pass it off...also white is the hardest color to match. i know you are saying it is just white... but think about it...how many whites do you reall see...bright white, off white, dark white, blue-ish white, etc. white is simply just not white, there is usually about 5 colors or more that go into the paint formula to get to the shade of white that is required. all that being said, if you take it to the dealer and complain about it enough, they might fix it for you, but it might not match when you get it back either....if they have problems with it, they might just paint over it right away without scuffing the paint for proper adhesion, and then you run into a huge mess. beware of the shop you go to--alot of dealerships dont do a good job an warranty work and just hack it. then you will be more upset than when you started. so if it is a huge eyesore for you just remember that it comes with risks. on my black 05 gt, the dealer did some paintless dent removal before i bought it...i didnt notice a crack in the paint until about a week later...i took it back and they were like what do you want us to do about it? i thought about and realized that they would not remove any of the trim or mouldings and just mask them off instead...its better to just not deal with it and paint it myself at my own expense, becase i know they wont do as good as a job as if i did it myself and i would be back at the bodyshop everyday and not get anywhere......so if you absolutely have to have it repainted......
