who daily drives their 94-95 gt/cobra?

i dd my 94 gt with 138,000miles on it. i dont drive it hard and i dont drive it easy either. the most beating i do on it is when i first put a performance upgrade on it. i also have a small hitch on it to tow my 15 foot boat. i really want to get a small truck and not dd my car so i can clean it up and build it how i want it.

if u had to choose between ur 02 and ur 94 which would u keep? Im having to choose between my 95 cobra (85k miles) and my 03 gt (49kmiles)

Bottom line: can i relie on the 95 for a dependable daily driver? It is all stock except for exhaust

The 94 hands down...I drove it for 260k before the rebuild and i only rebuilt it because i wanted to not because anything failed, the 02 is nice but my girlfriend drives it because it's an auto, it's ok but let's put it like this i put a s-trim on the 02 with 8lbs and it hit the dyno with 345 rwhp...it feels slow compared to my 331 afr headed 94 :nice: keep the 94, it wont let you down plus it's cheaper to modify as an added bonus.

thanks for all the replys guys! Im mostly afraid of the car giving out on me even though all vital signs are great....compression, oil ps, temp etc... I dont know why im so afraid of having to solely rely on the car...i have a truck (92 diesel f250) and i have two more 302 (forged piston) short blocks sitting on stands in the shop. I guess its just the idea of daily driving a car thats 12 yrs old that scares me

If it breaks.

Upgrade it. :D

And parts for these cars are cheap, and 5.0s are easier to work on than Modulars. Ive had stuff broken and fixed with in 24 hours. Like the harmonic balancer and the dizzy for example. Most of the time is spent figuring out whats wrong. lol Thats where stangnet comes in. :rlaugh:

Its so simple ... at least as how I see it :D

If you wanna dd your Stang

You are gonna have to make compromise about some things like :(

gear ratio
cam specs
soft sticky tires
etc

It you make it a Weekend Toy :)

You can go more radical with the mods :nice:

I never forget ... they don't make a push rod motored Stang anymore :nono:

As time passes ... it gets harder and harder to find a REALLY clean one :Word:

Not driving mine daily will allow me to enjoy it for a long time ... hopefully ;)

I DD mine... 8 months a year... 41K miles in 3 years with a lot of down time...

Only let me down once... and at that it still didn't let me down... the starter failed the first time I took the family out to a cruise night, 45 minutes from home... I fould a couple guys to help me bumps tart it and we jsut drove straight home...

so that DOESN'T count as being stranded right?

Last year in Feb I drove my car 10 hours straight @90+ moving from south Fl to SC. The following 2 weekend I went to central FL 6 hrs each way @ 90+mph. The only problem my car has giving me is the crappy T5 I've had rebuilt (2 yrs apart) and it's crapping out again. As soon as the funds are available the stocker is coming out and an A5 or Tremec is going in. I just keep the car tuned with a maintenance plan and she treats me right. I have no problems (besides gas prices) on driving the car across the U.S and back with few stops.

i have been driving the cobra everywhere.....currently the car is getting 22.3 mpg..........that is better than my 03 gt:shrug: Is that about what everyone else is getting?
