I daily drove my white coupe in highschool, we have some pretty heavy snows and recieve around 200 inches of the white stuff per winter. I used some studded snow tires and 300lbs of sand bags in the trunk........not great but it worked for a couple years.

It doesn't rain much here in Central California, but when it does, it rains hard. I drive my Fox everyday, and I have to when it rains. Like what everyone else said, it's definitely not a good car for wet conditions. I have BFGoodrich G-Force KDWs, and they are hard tires, I'll do a normal, slow takeoff from a light and and I'm spinning the tires for a few seconds. It's no winter car at all.

i've been DDing mine for the past four or five years. I run studded snows on the back and regular snows on the front and its manageable. But its still horrible. You can get by in a couple inches of snow...but anything more than thats its really impossible.

I drove mine all last year with almost bald BFG Drag radials, rain or snow, i couldnt give it gas in the snow or it would kick out, just had to take off slow and not give it much gas speeding up. Its not much fun, ive got street tires on back this year hoping it does alittle better.

Rain and snow are two totally different things in a 5.0. Rain just takes a level head to get through, I have never had an issue, even on ET Streets a few times. Snow on the other hand was much tougher. My driveway is uphill a few hundred feet... If I made it out I could manage around town. Lots of times it took 20+ tries to get up the driveway!

Good luck, 1st half of the tank goes a lot slower than the second half. Im my Audi if I hit 200 on the first half, I end with about 350-360 miles on that tank. The 5.0 on my highway trips I would be about 170-180 and about 300 when I filled it (around 12 gallons or so, I don't run it dry).

Also had a nice sheet of 1/4" thick ice this AM, would have been fun with the 5.0.

Sometimes you don't have a choice... I had to go to classes and work in the ice and all I had was my 5.0 for a couple years and my 4cyl up until this year. I had 3 60lb bags in the trunk of the 4cyl, but with an open diff it sucked.
