I've posted this here before and people assured me they weren't too bright but last night I got flashed 4 times in a 20 min ride in the country.

I realize that the fact that there are 4 lights there would automatically make some think the high beems are on but I don't think that many people would notice if they weren't maybe a little too bright.

I set the car next to my 97 ranger last night and the stang with low beam (fog lights on) was definately brighter than the ranger with the low beams.

Anyone else? I keep flashing people back wanting to stand my ground but maybe they ARE too bright?

not too bright. any time you add two extra lights, its gonna be a little brighter. does the ranger have fogs as well? if so, were they on for the test?

i have been on numerous night trips on the interstate in BFE, and never had anyone flash me. when i first got the car, some people did, but now that the cars have been out for 3 years, it has stopped.

I sometimes forget to turn on my actual lights at night. Driving with the fogs aint safe but it works.

Cant wait till i get my Roush bumper....2 more fog lights ftw.

I can honestly say I have never been flashed in the mustang yet, but now that I say that I am sure I will drive home tomorrow and get flashed. I just hope she has big cans.

I got flashed by 4-wheel drives that sit higher than me.......?????????WTF? Also got pulled over by cop for driving with lights and fogs on, 1/4 mile from a bridge socked in by fog. I then went by 4 big a$$ 4 wheel drives that had bigger and brighter fogs than mine. Hope they got pulled over.

I hear ya. Most of the officers in this part of Florida are 4x4 good ol boys. If you're driving a jacked up 4x4, you can get away with just about anything. I say keep showing them how bright your lights can really get, and let them know WE are the kings of the road. Well, unless you come across a vette or viper.

No the ranger didn't have fogs but my car does seem a little bright just looking at it in the yard. I've never been flashed on the interstate either.

I live in a small town with FEW s197 gt's and I have YET to meet another one at night.

I wonder if they make tinted covers for the fog lights? It probably look cool on my black car.

Flashed

I get flashed on a daily basis! I'm over it.
Now, GTS makes headlight, foglight, and tailight covers, however I've heard they come off very easily. Just like they did on the fox-bodies. I replaced mine multiple times, mainly due to theft. I saw a car with smoked taillights, but they weren't covers. I hear there is a smoke-out spray paint mainly used on tailights and marker lights. I'm not too sure how well this would work on the headlights or foglights. Anybody else hear about this stuff?

I was flashed by the first car coming towards me when I was driving from San Simeon to San Francisco on State Route 1. No other flashing for the entire trip. This was daylight. I don't usually drive with the fog lights on, but I figured that driving a narrow, twisty, two-lane road was a good time to stand out to oncoming traffic.

dont bother with the GTS blackouts. i was unsatisfied with mine, although i didnt have the fogs because they were not yet available. the headlight covers kept coming loose, and the tails would rub on the trunk, no matter how they were adjusted. the rubbing would cause a very annoying squeek. they also made the taillights look huge. :(

I don't think I have ever been flashed. But then again I usually run my lower fogs more than I run the uppers. I have the GTS headlight/taillight covers on mine, no issues at all. Of course a little 3M always keeps things in place.

I used to get flashed a lot. I put yellow tint bulbs in the fogs and haven't been flashed since.

Do you have any pics? I have been contemplating that on mine, just not sure how I wouod like it.
