Last year at tech they said I needed a seat brace. I have found some on the net to purchase but since I just bought a nice welder I want to fab up my own.

Does anyone have any pictures of a seat brace installed on a Mustang? Or a web site that shows how to install one?

Thanks,

do they mean the back support part of the seat? they can break and then you get the gangster lean to it...take off the back cushion of the seat and the problem should obvious, give it an hour each seat(the driver seat usually only needs it) from start to finish, all you need to do is get it to where it sits straight, then spot weld along the seams better than the factory did

Right on Devil Dog!!!

I have heard of the gansta lean but this deals with my Notch that has a racing seat with the potential of an 11' sec. pass. So the tech. guy insisted on a seat brace. It must be attached the the cross bar on the main hoop on my 6 paint roll bar and attached (bolted) to the back of my racing seat. There are many ways to do this, I'm just looking for some ideas, a clean look with simplicity. I have a few ideas but I'm sure others have better ones.

Did'nt you get a mig machine?? to keep from taking out the seat I would use a 1x1 2inch X 3/16in angle bolt it to the seat with two 5/16 bolts make a 1in strap to go from the seat to the back side of the roll bar and then weld a seat belt style bracket to the bottom of the roll bar. I used 3/8 bolts to attach the strap to the seat and bar:)
