I think that's what it's called. Who has it and who makes a good quality one? After posting on that other thread I realized my suspension needs some work. I'm planning on SFC, rear sway bar(recs?), and that torque arm.
Thanks

Do you have a panhard bar? If not it would be best to use a torque arm and panhard bar at the same time. The panhard bar alone with stock upper arms will cause a lot of bind, and the t/a replaces the upper arms, but requires the panhard bar to keep the axle centered.

I would check on stangsuspension.com for Maximum Motorsports stuff..

i'M looking into both of them. What do they do besides stiffing up the car?

My friend has a Maximum Motorsports in his 99 Saleen, he really likes it alot. He's taking it out though, because he's making well over 500rwhp and MM thought it wouldn't hold up to the abuse.

Well They don't stiffen the car at all, what they do it turn the 4-link suspension into a 3-link. The advantage in the system is that you have two pieces doing ONE job each. The upper control arms in our 4 link suspension do two things and neither one very well. The resist lateral translation of the axle and keep it from rotating about it's longitudinal axis when you get on the throttle. With the 3 link, the Panhard Bar prevents the longitudinal drift and the torque arm controls the longitudinal rotation.

If you do end up getting a panhard bar make sure you get one that allows you to run tailpipes as some don't. My buddy bought his cobra with alot of suspension work and it had a PB that didnt allow it so he could never run tailpipes. As far as who to buy from you can't lose with Griggs.

A Watts link is an alternative to a panhard bar. They do sell a third link kit however.

Both look like good systems, but if you are going to buy a kit, I would stick with the panhard bar for half the price. Just my opinion though.

I ve read that the upper bushings are a special rubber on the control arms that keeps them from bindind ,anybody know where to get them.

No tailpipes is not a problem, I'm running cutoffs and if I do something with the exhaust, it'll be side exits.
Thanks a lot guys, I'll look into it.

Panhard bar is cheaper and not to mention adds significantly less unsprung weight than a watts linkage. Thats something to think about also.

I have both the MM Panhard and Torque Arm. I bought the Mac Stainless catback and had no problems using the tails. Mac was smart and mad the over the axle section in two separate parts. Great for this setup. I did have to wrap the passenger side exhaust with wrap from the muffler back. It was bumping the panhard under severe acceleration. The wrap made it completely unoticable. Dumps or side exhaust would be easier though.

As for the two together, major difference in handling. Tightens up the rear more than I could explain. Makes corners a lot more predictable.

As for 500 HP causing issues, don't see it. I used to frequent MM and I call often. If you don't get the HD torque arm, I could see issues. With the HD you should be good for up to 600hp or so.

Just know that a torque arm requires SFCs, and modification to you H or X pipe due to the included crossmember location. Read all the steps in the directions before this install. It looks easy, but there are a few key points that can burn ya.

I have a few good pics on my page in my sig, but none with the exhaust. I have gone on enough for now, good luck.......................

Nick at MM told my friend 500rwhp was the limit, we talked to him at the World Ford Challenge last year.

To me that is debateable. HP isn't really what dictates the limits of the torque arm setup. RWTQ is the real limiting factor. My friends 03 Mach 1 sits around 575rwhp, and has not a single issue with the exact setup I have. Not to argue, but he drives his car pretty hard and has no issues after 26k.

I talk to different people all the time, and hear different limits for the setup too, so I don't know that there is a set limit. I think it is more in maintenance and driving habits than anything. I don't plan on anything over 450rwhp any time in the near future.

95Vert, I got a pretty decent deal, I don't remember prices other than I paid 18% less total plus tax than the listed web prices. Only reason I got this deal was my friends and spent over 50k all at once on tons of parts. It was then or never.
