Who has a visor strip?

I am about to get my windows tinted. I have always had a visor strip done on my cars. The person who used to do my tint always removed the rear view mirror to put the strip on so there is no hole in the tint, thus you can not see where the mirror attaches to the windshield from the outside. It is a nice clean look. The problem is he is no longer around. The only good place around where I live has told me that they do not remove the mirror. I have seen other cars with this done and it kinda looks funky to me. Kind of like some tint jobs where the 3rd break light is not removed from the back window and you see a hole in the tint where they just cut around it. Has anyone else with a visor strip in their stang removed the rear view and glued it back on top of the tint, or was it just cut around? Is this a normal thing for tint shops to do or not?

Take off the rear view mirror yourself before taking it in for tint, then just glue it on over the tint.

Seems like most shops will do the bare minimum and no more. Sad really. My rearview would fall off by itself before a rock made me get a new windshield. The new one had the band already. I don't see any reason why you couldn't remove your rearview and glue it back on.

if you put your mirror on over the tint the only thing holding the mirror on would be the tint, wouldent it fall off easy?

If they tint it properly, they will not have to remove the rearview mirror and you will not notice. Tinters cut the tint on the outside of the window and they will have to trim around the bracket for the mirror on the outside. When they transfer the tint to the inside there will be a small gap around the bracket and once the rearview mirror is placed on it will cover the gap!

Yes this it true. They could trim it around really close with no gap at all, but the whole point is that I do not want the rearview bracket to show from the outside.
