Who has boost and hyperutectics?!

Here is the deal I have a 302 with TF heads, street intake, F303 cam. The short block is a new "explorer left overs" bottom end. So new block, crank, rods, and hyper-u pistons. Has about 6,000 miles or so on it. I also just purchased a Hellion Heat turbo kit. It is a intercooled single 62mm turbo kit. I am going to put it on the car and run it on low boost ( less than 9 pounds anyway) and have it tuned by Murrillo Motorsports. I want to drive it around while I build the next boost capable motor. I am not concerned about making alot of power on this "stock" engine more just messing around with it. I know I should just wait till I get the next motor built, but where is the fun in that. So is any one blowing on hyperutectics here? If so how much? I have had people tell me both ways, oh you can't do that and it will be fine with a safe tune. Any info you have on the subject I would like to know.

From what I've heard, I think you'd be ok assuming the engine is tuned and running well. They seem to be especially susceptible to detonation, so that should be your first priority... I've owned a couple turbocharged engines and when modding them, I ran into detonation a few times so be careful
Also you might want to look into discussions about ring-gapping and hyper piston failure under heavy thermal load. Don't know much on the topic, but I know those issues seem to come hand-in-hand with hypers.

You should be perfectly fine if you stay conservative on the boost and tune. I'll be running a good bit of boost on my stock (Explorer) shortblock pretty soon, and I'm not the least bit concerned. I'm honestly more concerned about headgasket failure than I am the pistons letting go. All of us 94-95 guys who supercharge stock shortblocks are doing so with no issues.
