My car keeps pinging. I have timing at 8 now and it doesn't do it was much. When it is at 10 or 12 it pings more. I think it is my egr. Who has deleted their egr and how does your car act afterward. Plus if any one has any pics or instructions on how to do this. And where is the egr? Pics.

The ERG is probably not the cause for your problem.

It is the valve that is connects from your upper intake to your passenger side header. If you remove it you will throw the CE light. You can however remove it cap the header with plug (bought from a supply store) and make/buy a couple modified parts to fake your sensor and block off the input to your intake. But, if you want to help your problem I would look else were. (Search the forums you’ll find what your looking for)

Have you cleaned your MAF sensor or replace your ACT sensor, those would be the first I would look into.

The EGR is connected to the pipe that comes out of your header on the pass side. I have mine deleted but also run my car with no spout and I have no more pinging at all set at 10 degrees.

What do I have to do to clean the MAF. I have a pro-m 75mm if that matters.

Thanks. When you deleted your egr did you CE light come on. And do I get any benfits from not having the egr. And it still pings alittle when I have the spout out.

Clean the senser part of the MAF with electrical part cleaner. It is 2 little wires that hang down in the sample tube of the MAF. I cleaned mine about 3 weeks ago and it cleared up the pinging and sluggish response.

The penny trick I tried first and 2 time it melted and disappeared somewhere and I got the embarrasing loud noise from under the hood. I finally used a cap.

I did get a CE light when deleted.
