As some of you know I have a used mongoose kit on the way (I should actually get it today). The guy that sold it to me said I have have to mod the lightning MAF wiring to work with my IAT sensor.... But I dont have an IAT sensor....

Do I have to do anything special to install a lightning maf on an 2002?? I know on the 02+ MAFs the IAT is built into the MAF, is that true with the lightning MAF as well? MAybe he thought I had an 00-01?

Just trying to get all my questions solved so the install goes as smoothly as possible!!

What you gotta do is take pick and open the plug for the maf on the wiring harness. THen you pull out the two wires that go to the IAT (which yes, is built into your stock maf). Next you take those wires, and either attach a plug to them or directly solder the wires onto an external IAT. I would recommend going with a threaded IAT from a lightning and drill/tap a hole into the pipe right before the throttle body.

On mine the plug would not line up right, ended up using A maf extender like the MAf IA. Plug can hook them right up for you then, but i have an 01 so i think it might be different

I see what you are saying. I have have to go to the dealership and get the harness... Wish I would have known I needed one of those when I ordered my fuel pump from randy!

get the harness and IAT from Randy , the wires for the IAT are the two far outside wires of the stock MAF , take out those 2 and leave the 4 in the middle for the MAF , the wires are reversible because it just reads resistance , so it doesn't matter which way you hook them up to the new IAT sensor
