I ran with no sway bar for awhile.... Put it back in cause I dont see the track that much and the car feels better (more stable) with it in :)
Glad to see you're a man of reason 1105.
I can understand removing the sway bar at the track, it's a 10 minute job, but leaving it off on the street is unsafe to yourself and everyone else on the road.
If a car doesn't handle the way Ford engineers designed it to due to OEM parts removal, then it's not safe.

I like the way my car handles, and I wouldn't want to drive it on the street without my sway bar. I prefer my car tight rather than sloppy.

I had fun driving around without it on... Go down back roads swirving back and forth... whole car rocks. I did run better 60's at the track without it on, but I need to go back and try again with it on now that I've gotten better at launches.

This thread died fast Snoozer :rlaugh:

I guess most people use a little common sense when it comes to their well being.

Here's a free bump

i dont need a bump, the fastest NA cars are running no sway bar and the slowest ones have theirs on.

Good job!!!!!

Sway bars are nothing but a govenor........RESTRICTION!!!!!! I'm with snoozer, take em out, and launch your car. Then you really get planted in the seat.

Well, mine is still on the car and has been on all my best passes. I ran without it at the track and on the street for a VERY short time, and despite all reasoning, my car wouldn't hook as well with it off as it did with it on?!?!? My theory is the chassis flexed too much and unloaded the tires??? Honestly, I have no idea why it didn't hook as well. One note though... this was on drag radials. I never ran without it on my ET streets, but then again I have ZERO traction problems now, my only problem is the clutch will not hold a 5000rpm launch on the ET streets as it slips. I hope to fix that as soon as I get some extra cash flow with a Pro Motion setup. I will say that my car was DAMN scarey without the sway bar, every turn I came to made the front look like it was going to hit the ground and the rear tires looked as though they were lifting off of it!!! My dad's 91GT however shows almost no sign that the sway bar is removed on the street, its handeling is hardly compromised.

Here's the pic for you snoozer!!!

JFYI- I have a completely stock suspension except for Global West LCA's and full length subframe connectors. I also replaced the axle side bushings on the UCA with factory ford rubber replacements. I think my weight is good for one thing... traction, but thats it!

Yeah, I really feel for him !

NOT ! LMAO !

He pretty much brings it on himself. With a little more age and maturing I'm sure he'll come around though.
