I have no rear sway bar.. it broke during a hard 1 - 2 shift.
Haven't replaced it yet.. but I only drive the car on weekends and sunny days.. so I'm not on the road much.. it makes a difference..

yeah... no rear sway bar is actually bad... unless of course you have after markey control arms. :nice:

My friend has his off of his turbo 91 LX and it drove like $hit. Regardless of its N/A , Turbo, or S/C you should have the front swaybar on. Only reason he had it off was to install all the pipeing for the turbo and dident get around to putting it back on. The body roll was very noticeable and the car just dident "feel right" the next day it was back on the car.

Snoozer, did your 60's improve at all with the sway bar off, or did it just help with weight reduction? I know its supposed to help weight transfer, and it sure made my front end lift, but my 60's actually suffered. I tried it 2 times at the track with the same results, so I re-attached it. (I never actually yanked it, maybe I will have to try that once I get a new clutch)

ummmm.. you forgot to mention the fact that I also had a hang nail that particular day, and I was in a very bitchy mood. My clutching foot was a little tired from a full day on the couch of watching "Movies Made for Guys" on TBS as well.

It's kinda funny how you only include certain things to serve your purpose. Try and remember all the details next time.

yes sir,

my 60s on 80 dollar phantom street tires improved greatly.

my 60s went down to consistant 2.01-2.08 with the shot strut.....

then with the nittos with the shot strut I was cutting low 1.9s my first times out. when i went 13.1 at 105.7

I fixed the strut and came back in alot worse weather but was able to launch. and get deep 1.8s

I wonder if i could have cut a 1.9 on my phantoms if the strut would have been operable.

It was collapsed and the front right was slammed and would not rise whatsoever. the car just squatued the right rear the other did nothing.

MTO502: the rear swaybar removal with stock suspension is BAD for rear end geometry, traction and launching. alot of control arms dont have the provisions to run one. :nice:

if he continues to troll me it wil continue

maybe i should put my sway bar on to apease him... yes, i think i will.

Troll you ?
Your ego seems to get the best of you everytime. At least you think highly of yourself.
I was simply trying to correct your erroneous ways and trying to inject a little sense into that melon of yours.
There have been several people on this thread that have mentioned how dangerous their vehicles handled without the sway bar. Killercanary had his sway bar on while achieving incredibly quick track times.

I'm just correcting all the wrong statements you've made. There's nothing wrong with that. This forum allows for some freedom of speech. A good debate never hurt anyone.
You just couldn't handle it and had to resort to name calling.
No hard feelings.

P.S. I'll admit I had a little fun at your expense with this thread though :rlaugh:

I can refrain from resorting to name calling. that is not my style.

I was just making a comment about your philosophies. You are scared of certain things you dont understand.

You are obviously not a true drag racer and are trying to correct me based on something you have no knowledge about.

I hope you feel you have one some little battle you thought you were caught up in. I personally dont give a damn. Try to put me down all you want and change my posts so you can post little rolleyes to stroke your ego.

Do what you want if that makes you feel better. It wont matter to me, because at the end of the day I know more about drag racing than you, I am a better driver and I will continue to go faster you with less mods. You may feel you won something here but this is just the internet. racing is the real world and you are a failure at that so far. now go prove me wrong.

I am done with this thread. Troll away.

I don't have strut bar because I have Cobra intake and stock GT's doesn't fit anymore
I still have swaybar under oul pan AND I think only Convertibles have swaybar's ?? , I still have this one

all mustangs and pretty much every late model production car has them.

without a sway bar a car will handle liek a tractor and body roll alot depending on teh cars roll center. In a camaro without one the effect is not as pronounced as it is when running it on a mustang. the weight is lower in the chassis and it doesnt feel like it will tip over if you corner at 45.

put this in the hands of an unexperienced driver and you will have problems. in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing and can drive accordingly then you have no problem.
