Who has replaced their steering shafts?

Most manual rack conversions nearly require one. After pulling the stocker (hard to believe that the only thing connecting the steering wheel to the rack is a rubber disk 3/8" thick!!), I couldn't beleive how the hell the thing holds up. The replacement ones with U-joints are very nice and actually connect the rack and wheel with metal :). Flaming river uses a very nice unit but it can be pricey. If you have a power rack, an adapter will probably be needed. I would replace the stock one anyway for how inferrior it looks.

Exactly how did it "let go"?
