Who Knows if A 09 Ranger can be Turbo'd?

I recently got an 09 Ranger w/ what looks like a twin OHC 2.3 4 cyl.
I also have all of that junk that I bought when I was gonna build a T/C 4 banger instead of the engine that's presently in my car (Turbo, A2A I/C, Delta gate Waste gate, and some BOV.)
I'm not gonna tear into the engine, I just wanna know if anybody here is familiar w/ the engine.
Is the 16v engine called a duratec?
The engine compartment appears crammed w/ that little assed engine,....where the hell do they put a turbo? I'm thinkin I'd rear mount the thing.
That said, what's involved w/ getting an oil reservoir to get the oil pumped back to the engine?
Since I intend to keep the engine sealed, other than injectors, what other kinds of junk am I gonna need to consider? Will the stock ECU be able to be programmed to accomodate the forced induction?
Since I intend to use the stock crap, I realize that boost will have to be limited, (and I don't want much more than 200 HP on the truck anyways),....anybody know what the new 09 hp/tq numbers from the factory are as a start point?
I also know that there are turbo range forums out there,...but since I'm a "well known member" here, I figured I'd start here as opposed to being a newb there.

youd need to tune it for sure...

the injectors im not sure about... IIRC those trucks are flex fuel meaning they can support E85. if they can support E85 i see no reason they would need more injector unless you run it on E85 with the turbo

I know anything Can be turbo'd,...I just am looking for what I'm gonna have to do beyond the obvious mechanicals, and whether or not a true rear mount is practical,...( cause for the sacrifice in boost potential, the cooler intake charge, (meaning I may not have to plumb in the I/C), and the fact that I can put the oil return in the valve cover instead of the oil pan is attractive to me.
I really dont know what has to be done to the computer to keep it happy w/ the increased fuel demand.
 
iirc the STS turbo kits pull oil off the oil pressure sensor (think T fitting) and run a small electric oil pump to push oil back to the turbo.

im not a fan of rear mounts for a few reasons... all the piping = lag if you ask me
all the piping also kills air volicity
then you add all other crap that can happen with the turbos under that car and yada yada yada.

first thing i would do is find a turbo you plan to run for cheap and see where you can fit it and go from there. it might be a bit on the large size but a cummins turbo can be had pretty cheap.

from there id want to hook it the truck up in stock form and see what kinda injection duty cycle your working with in stock form on pump gas and go from there.

I got ya. The turbo I have is a chinese unit that came off of the SVO turbo engine that I bought complete. 57mm I think. Regardless, there's too much shaft movement in/out and it probably is trash based on that. That will be the plan for the turbo size though. Even if I mid mount that turbo, (as opposed to all the way back there) I still don't see room for it to sit in the engine bay. All the A/C shi t is crammed on the exhaust manifold side, and I'm not getting rid of that. I will proceed w/ building a stock setup using the cast manifold for now, and see what's what. Unless soembody else waves a NO NO NO flag, I'll get it running and do just as you suggest.
It's for my son, and he is a newb in all aspects of the auto hobby,...so this thing has got to be reliable first,...the power tuning will come after that.
Tried registering at the turbo ranger forum, but have yet to be able to log on,...they must have enough members or something.:shrug:

I've looked into doing a rear mount turbo on my 4.7 Dodge Dakota DD. Pick up a decent turbo and start fabbing. There is a enough build threads on the internet to guide you the rest of the way.

As for a turbo, I'd recommend a Garret GT28R(S) or something similar. It's a good 4cyl turbo that should get to your goals easily.
