I'm kind of new to the stang world, I just got started with my 02 GT and would like to know what you guys think is a decent cold air intake for the money and where the cheapest place to purchase, any info would greatly be appreciated.

There is none. I mean there is few, but nothing less then $1000 at the least that might give you few HP at near stock level.
All of the intake on the market now is like designed for somewhat highly modefied engine. I think. There is no intake designed for near stocker to squeeze more out of stock or near stock engine like there is for 5.0.

I could be wrong on my understanding

I think he meant cold air intake... in which case the only one people say might actually get gains is the K&N FIPK

i have the fipk. spend the money on something else like a new shifter, gears, or a quality exhaust (NOT weld-in flowmasters)

but if you really want to drop $200 on an air intake, the fipk is the best on the market. stay away from the chrome pipes.

I have the FIPK as well. Definitely do a shifter first if you are manual, that is a good first mod. If you really want a intake keep checking ebay. I got my FIPK for $128 shipped a long time ago.

Cold Air Intake is worth it if you got full exhaust. dont believe me ? listen to your exhaust with it on then take it off :nice:
get a C&L upgraded MAF (85mm) with tru-fit inlet pipe. the K&N it comes with is a monster. Comes with everything up to the throttle body. dyno gains of 6 horsepower at the rear wheel.

I agree. I got the FIPK when I already had my mufflers and it made it sound even more evil.

I feel the FIPK was worth it ... a few hp, looks good, easy to install, better sound (from intake and exhaust)

What's wrong with weld in flowmasters?

Anyways. I would suggest insted of getting CAI, perhaps getting the throttle body plenum combo if you are interested in working on the intake side of things. I only have mine p&P but I still noticed a good difference

i would reccommend putting that money towards a k&n drop-in and a new Tb and plenum

--but thats just me...
and if i could get the labor done for really cheap i would just get welded Magna's.....put the rest toward the x-pipe
