I am going to pull the Cobra R hood in favor of a cowl hood. I would like it to be at least a 5" cowl.

Also does anybody have some pictures of a 99-04 Mustang with a 5" or bigger cowl hood they could share. Thanks.

Something along the lines of the hood on Tim Lynch's car. I am not going to use Dzus fasteners, but you get the idea:

Pughman has a 4" Harwood cowl hood and he's pretty happy with the quality. I'm sure they've got bigger ones still.

Also....going with those dimensions, you're probably going to have to stick with a Pin-On hood.

VFN Fiberglass makes nice hoods as well. A couple of guys over on the Thunderbird/Cougar web site I belong to have them and rave about their quality.

I see they've got a nice pin on 5" cowl hood listed for the '99-'04's...

This is a pick of one of their 4" "Cajun Pro Hood's" bolted onto a car. The 4" comes in both pin on and bolt on varieties.

Hmmmm, I like that Cajun Pro hood. I forgot all about VFN. It looks good with the Cobra bumper cover as well.

That's what 1800+ RWHP does to a 10.5W tire.

Here's a video of his 6.666 @ 215 pass recently.

H.O. Fibertrends has those hoods, I do believe.

I've seen one in person on a green Bullit and it was AWESOME. The quality looked great and the fit looked just like factory.

Nice, was it a pin on? Anyway you could get a couple of pics if the car is local? Thanks.

I had a 4 inch on my car. I just got tired of the inconvenience of it. Car wasn't fun to drive. Ok for the drag strip and if you got the motor to back it up, but it gets old having a stock car with a big hood. If you want you should still go for it. Your car. Anything over 4 inches is going to be a pin on hood though. That big of one will hit the cowl area if raised.

I don't believe it was a pin-on.

The car was at Dynospeed Racing, in Memphis, but I do have pics of it on my camera. I'll try to get those on here this weekend.

As far as I'm concerned..

this is the exact same thing that an import guy would do with a ricer wing.

redneck rice, in my books.

But I have heard really good things about H.O fibertrends around locally also.

I am going to be trial fitting a sheetmetal intake later on this Spring/Summer on my car. It is going to have custom extended runners. Cowl induction hoods are not for looks, they are for a a specific purpose...hood clearance. Redneck rice is just not a very wise comment

The intake will be similar to this. As you can see, hood clearance will be slightly important:

I have no idea what that sequence of smiley's is supposed to comminicate, but yes I need some more room under the hood to clear the top of the sheetmetal intake and possibly some AN fittings/lines.
