Who Runs 6 Cyl Springs 67/68 mustang???

I'm looking for a set and my search results show that the coil springs used in early 6cyl mustangs for 67/68 are the same as the 289. The application for the springs says they are for both 6 cylinder and V8 so I am assuming there is no difference from the factory?

I am looking to swap out my 620 springs for some 6cyl springs to help with launching my car at the track.

Is this in fact correct? Can someone post a pick of the ride height with 6 cyl springs?, or if in fact there is no difference, will it be o.k. for me to cut the springs to get the desired ride height.

My fear is that the 6 cylinder (or v8) springs will raise my car up higher than the 1 inch drop 620's I have now. I want to keep the ride height the same but lower the spring rate.

No, that is not correct. 67 200's and some 289's used one spring while 289 w/a.c. and convertibles used another. In '68, the 200 cars switched to the previous 289 w/a.c. spring. In '68, the 289 cars added three more spring numbers including one H.D. number. In all, there were five different springs used in 67/68 for 200 and 289 cars and another for 390 cars.

My 67 has original I6 springs and sits very low. New ones would ride higher, but cutting them will increase the rate. If you could find some pull off from an old car you would be good to go.
