In the 1/4mile which is faster a stock 99 Mustang GT or 1994 Z28 with exhaust. Both are manuals and the GT has the better driver sorry if this is not the correct forum. Ive drove mine and then drove my friends and his (Z28) just doesnt seem to have any balls. But i know they came stock with more hp

I know my '94 Trans Am would eat a '99 Mustang GT for lunch, so if the '94 Z-28 is similar in engine power and performance to the Firebirds of the same year then I hate say it but I doubt the Stang would do very well.

It's rated at 275HP

It won't rape a GT but it should win

His is a 1994...it's possible it's in a serious need of a tune-up or maintainence if it's 14 years old.

Older cars don't always run like they did off the showroom floor...especially if not maintained.

As gay as a bowtie is it would win for the simple fact that is has a 350 and the gt has a 281. Don't worry though "bowties are for little boys."

So what if the z28 wins.....at least you look cool in the stang haha,

but yeah, sadly, i dont even wanna say, the mustang cant shake a z28 on the drag, take him to an autocross and watch him spin out.

Drivers race IMO. The Z28 is the faster car, but not by much. If he blows the launch he might not be able to make up the difference before the end of the track.

lt1s are a similar match to a pi gt. = drivers, the f-body will win... but most of the time its dead even(from my experience) if the lt1 has an auto, u should have no problem mopping it up tho, those things are not the best lol.

From my experience it has always come down to the driving.

From a stop my buddies LT1 auto took me. He launches hard and hooks, I launch easy and still spin.

From a roll I pull him. His car has exhaust only, but it is an auto like I said.

Stock for stock the 1/4 mile times are similar. I imagine up top he will get you if not off the line. The extra cubes will pay off then.

+1. I think some gears would really help out alot too.Im not familiar with exact specs on the 99.But there is a guy I chat with often running a 03 Mach stock except for 4.10's and on some of his vids Ive seen him running 1/8 mile runs he only beating them by about a half or so car length.I know they are not the same as your OP,but gives an Idea of whats going on,but he says he launches easy too.He has quite a few vids on streetfire or whatever its called.

In my old 03 GT I ran a guy from work and he had a 94 LT1 Firebird Auto. And we raced and I pulled him pretty good up top and down low. But his was stock and mine had 4.10s full exhaust minus headers, C&L upper intake and a SCT tune. and I smoked him. Mine was a 5 speed. But I think it would come down to who is the better driver cause you have to know how to drive a 5 speed.
