hey all, I'm new here, first post.

i've been considering picking up a 95 vert, and just wondering why? Why is the 95 vert the car for me? I want the fun of a vert, and the iconic 5.0

What's the best option to go crazy? My buddy's got a 93, 342 stroker on TKO, dyno'd at ~380hp and 420ft-lbs, something like that (it was dyno'd with AOD). I like the idea of a 351 with some heads, some all out balls out fun. With a 351, that kind of defeats the purpose of getting the last 5.0

What do you all think? Get the 95 and build the 5.0, drop a 351, or get any stang and drop the 351? What is most cost efficient, reliable, in the long run, yields more power?

Sorry for the long post....but i'm a curious one!

Thanks in advance,
rman

If your planing in building something radiacal it really doesn't matter which one you use (87-95) the suspension/brakes/etc. will be changed anyway. It's all going to come down to which one you want more syle wise (looks). But if you plan on running a strong 302/347 the 94/95 have a better suspension, braking system, and a better chassis platform to work with (and we already have the 5 lug).

It depends if you like the look of the 95's or of the fox....i've had 2 94-95s and 3 foxes, my current car is a fox, it is lighter but not as technologically advanced as teh 95 (suspension, brakes, 5lug, ride qualtiy, etc)...whatever you do...don't get an automatic vert

351 seems to be the best bet in cost.. If you want to stick with 302, H/C/I and supercharger would work, or a more expensive option would be to purchase a turbo kit and slap it on your stock engine and get it tuned. Anyway you slice it, you need a new transmission. Anything under 500hp I would stick with a manual tranny.

STOCK AUTO + HEAVY CAR + STOCK GEARING = DOGSH*** acceleration

thanks a lot for the input guys!!! forgive me, i'm new, but H/C/I? is what does that stand for? Headers Cam and Intakes?

If I were to go the 351 route, then stroke it and maybe even FI, then couldn't i just get any mustang, like a 99 v6?

If i stick with 302, I'd definitely build it up and go FI...

Does anyone here know the legalities of either turbo or 351 'stang in smog nazi cali?

i realized that shortly after i posted

how does a built/stroked 302 compare to a built/stroked 351? is either better than the other for FI/NA? or is that all dependent on the CR?

A 351 gives you more power period..."There's no replacement for displacement" (most times)

i was always under the impression that turbos ran more effecient....given they don't do a VISUAL examination...

then would a s/c be better?
