Why are a lot of 2011-14 GT's I see for sell missing upper intake cover?

Just wondering why these would be missing on a lot of cars that look to be stock.

Coincidence? Owner preference? Probably have to ask the seller some people probably read somewhere it traps heat or something

Mine was removed from my 13 gt simply because I didn't like its looks. The cover is in storage and the car is otherwise basically stock.
