Interesting thread here.
But remember, I bought my latest Mustang for $500, and thought I paid too much. My daughter has driven it for a month now, and it seems to be working.
This would be the hardest place to sell a car like that, a pristine older Cobra. From what I can tell, most of those who frequent here know these cars inside and out, and are interested in the least costly way to fix or mod their cars.
For example, when I wanted a 5.0 toy, about 7 years ago, totalled, wadded up 5.0 Mustangs were $2500 and up, and several salvage yards were able to grow into national businesses buying and selling them. I had to start with a $50 shell. For a while, I was behind where I would have been starting with a complete GT, but now, I realize I have saved money, because I am past where leftover stock stuff will help go faster. Time and the market made the difference.
I don't want and pristine example, because it is an expensive way to get either a hotrod or a daily driver. So the market for that car is somewhat limited, to me.
However the market will be changing, and those pristine cars will come into demand in time.
