The problem with customer or autozone diag when it don't fix the car they still blame us...
This is why I don't do customer or outside diags.
Right.. too many people try to talk Sh%! like they know what they're talking about. If I take their word for it and it's wrong, then I take all the blame.
Offending people for not taking their own diagnosis is a lot cheaper than taking their diagnosis and having it be wrong..
I tell the customer how much it will cost. They agree to it, fine. I also tell them their outside diagnostic could be wrong and note that in the repair line and make them initial that line and sign the RO. Nothing they can do once it is in writing.
