Josh, you know what amazes me... every damn MU show. When I first started going to them almost 10 years ago (maybe even more) all there was were foxbodies. The last few I went to there were more new edge Mach 1s than fox bodies it seemed. The modded LX class had 5 or 6 cars, including coupes and hatchs... thats weak!
The turnpike used to be a fox body every other car. Nowadays your lucky to see 10-12 of them in a night and it's usually the same ones!
Speaking of G37's, a guy that works in my building recently bought a G37S sedan. I have to say, that thing is pretty damn nice (black w/brushed aluminum wheels). Apparently they're no slouch either.As far as new sedans wanting to play, I had a brand new Beaver TL try to mess with me going home the other day, but the other driver probably didn't realize that although he has more hp, his car is a lot more porkier than my piggy. I didn't feel like wasting my gas and a TL is an easy kill. If it was the new G37 it would have been a better run, but not on the street of course.

Who know's maybe one day the new mustang will look like a fox and we'll be calling it retro.

I dunno....I think Mopar really hit the nail on the head (looks wise) with the new Challenger....and the Camaro isn't far behind.
The S197 on the other hand was a little tamer than I would have liked, but the 2010 model reskinning gives the platform a little more bite. I'll need to see a few of them running around in person with some aftermarket hop ups before I can make an honest call though.

I drive a fox because its a hell of a lot cooler than a yugo. Actually I fell in love with the body style and the workability of them several years ago. Its kinda an Ikon as far as im concerned for anyone that wants to get into a cool car as is factory and you can do pretty much anything you want to to them. The parts are so abundant and interchangeable its unreal. Try to change the nose from a 1979 comaro to a 1993 camaro it would be a fun project but with fox mustangs its all possible you can use your imagination to design your own unique ride.
Don't forget about the hood insulation, and dash emblem. Just kidding
The new Challenger is nice- get one now, so next year, when there is no Chrysler, you can sell it and pay for your kids education. All your kids. The new Camaro is a nice attempt, didn't go as well as the Challenger, I don't think. The S197's are nice, heavy, retro. Terminators are the best recent Mustangs, maybe the best ever- its the culmination of all Ford learned a Mustang could do. They were like a big Ford Racing engineer party, where they all got loaded and said, "Yeah, and lets put a blower on it, too!" My Fox isn't trying to be what it used to be, it was part of a progression, a next, new step for its time. It took old cue's, and new advances, but looked, acted, its own distinctive way. You know its from the 80's, and, contrary to what some believe, thats a good thing. It was a great time to be a Mustanger. Everything today wants to be what it was. We don't need things to be like they were- there are too many sequals in the world today, not enough original ideas. S197's, well, we did that design already, my neighbors 69 Mach is proof. Except it looks, sounds, acts, the part it wants to be, a 69 Mustang. Now wants to be then, and it just ain't, no matter how many refinements the throw on. Its not supposed to be refined, it didn't need to be. My fox's identity is part of why I love it- its recognizable for what they did, what they still do. I love it.
