Why dont people use Tremecs with 429/460's?

I'm making 570 ftlbs to the wheels with a smal block so I dont think a big block will be much worse. People tell me it cant be done. But I know that A. a toploader bellhouisng has the same bolt pattern as a tremec but you need a spacer to use one, B. toploaders were used in big blocks and small blocks, C. I think the FE's shared bolt patterns with the 429/460s, and D. Lakewood makes a big block Ford bellhousing for I guess the toploader. When I asked they said that the Tremec will bolt up to that bellhousing but you need to make sure the shaft doesnt bottom out on the crank. So I'm going to take that as they know the bolt pattern is the same but from there they have no idea. I guess I need to find out for sure that the bolt pattern is the same, that the shafts are the same length and what bearing I need to use. Wont be easy but I want to try since nobody else is doing it.

the TQ curve is different on a big block vs small block, small block tq is at high rpm..big block has it down low, 2000rpm and up.. a mild big block and some sticky tires and you'll break a tremec.. the new ones wouldnt be that bad, but an auto is going to be cheaper and not as hard on parts.. thats why I'm going witha 'glide..

oh yeah, another prob with a tremec would be.. where is the shifter going to come up thru the floor? wont be the same as a small block..

I know they do, I have that part number along with all the specs for it already but Lakewood wouldnt guarantee it would be the right depth so Im checking around for the depth of a stock tremec or T-5 bellhousing. As for torque curves, my little small block made 334 ftlbs at the wheels at just 1900 rpms so I know a Tremec will take it. Hell, at only 3000 rpms Im already at 467 rwftlbs and most big blocks cant compete with that. Its just that everyone I talk with at BigblockFords or Corral.net say that a C6 is the only way or that it cant be done so obviously a lot of people dont know about it. As for price its cheaper for me since I already have a TKO and nobody should worry about shifter location because Im already using it and the 460 and 302 come pretty close to the distance from the firewall so it shouldnt be that far off. Besides, if you cant fabricate that then your a puss.
