I'm making 570 ftlbs to the wheels with a smal block so I dont think a big block will be much worse. People tell me it cant be done. But I know that A. a toploader bellhouisng has the same bolt pattern as a tremec but you need a spacer to use one, B. toploaders were used in big blocks and small blocks, C. I think the FE's shared bolt patterns with the 429/460s, and D. Lakewood makes a big block Ford bellhousing for I guess the toploader. When I asked they said that the Tremec will bolt up to that bellhousing but you need to make sure the shaft doesnt bottom out on the crank. So I'm going to take that as they know the bolt pattern is the same but from there they have no idea. I guess I need to find out for sure that the bolt pattern is the same, that the shafts are the same length and what bearing I need to use. Wont be easy but I want to try since nobody else is doing it.
