First off let me state that I'm pretty new to all this. I have a 2007 4.0L mustang with the pony package and automatic transmission. Recently I've been getting beat by cars I didn't think would win against me at all.

I raced what seemed to be a 2004 300m tonight from about 70-100mph and it beat me by 3 car lengths. A couple weeks ago I got beat by an older BMW 328i by about the same amount from 40-80mph. I can barely beat older late 1990 acura integras. I beat them about 2 car lengths.

I use to think that my 0-60 was right at 7 seconds but I'm starting to think it's more like 7.5-8. It does have a little over 70k on it which maybe a reason. Is this common or does my car need a good tune up?

pre 2011 v6s were slow cars, if you wanted a fast one should of got the v8. Also the 2004 300m has like 250 hp and 250 lbs torque so its got you power wise just comes down to weight.

Seriously, you don't have anything close to a race car...stop racing on the street. It's a power to weight issue and most of the cars you are racing have smaller engines but are going to be much, much lighter than you are.

Umm, you bought a v6! and not the 2011+ model at that. so yeah, you will get beat often. so until you get some new gears and a blower installed, just accept it. or quit trying to be fast in a slow car and make it look good!
