Does this make sense when i 1st start the car,for about maybe 10-20 minutes the car sounds awesome...its pretty loud nice rumble...But when it warms up its quiet? I dont know i noticed this the other day...drove home form work 30 min ride got home i barely heard the car running...Went it took a shower ate, went out started the car loud again? weird no????

Higher idle (cold idle) is louder than hot idle.
Or your hearing attenuates.
Or the hot-wax shower theory applies.
Or malted beverages induced this thread. :D

Lol no my ears are fine....The car does change tone when its warm compared to when the car is cold....Plus i think the car is quiet i thought it would be alot louder then it is......

Has do to with cold fuel mapping vs hot fuel mapping.

My car does the same thing. Cold cripsp day it sounds awesome on startup.

Hot day after running...more mellow

Yeah i can understand a fuel injected car but mine is a carb car so i would think it would run pretty much the smae cold or hot no? but yeah i think it has to do with cold vs. hot tho...

Well especially on a car with forged pistons, it's going to be even looser till they swell a little and seal, so it's going to sound a little rough and tumble.

All cold starts cars make more noise, stuff just isn't up to temp and like posted, FI cars are on the cold map.
