Sounds like detonation to me. 15# really isn't a lot of boost if you have an intercooler but something is causing it.

Broken off out by the rings? Any speckles on the spark plugs? Whats your timing set at? Fuel octane rating? Have an IC? What computer/VAM/injectors? Turbo or n/a head? Any more info would be helpfull.

yup

they keep peeling up the top ringland/guide whatever you wanna call it right against the cylinder wall. Its all good tho got a fresh longblock with my t3 that i got back they put 360degree thrust bearings in it with upgraded wheels from and back. a 3 inch down pipe that has the 5 bolt flange made into ito it( not a stock neck cut and reworked it came off a precision that was mounted in a 2.3 turbo stang on a stock e6 its purdy lol)
the head has the roller cam with light port work but stock valves, a set of 42 lb injectors, a 150lph pump ajustable regulator. but all stock ecu and im still running the vam. volvo front mount also

imma take it to my tuner guy he said that he can work with the setup that i have he is a well known guy in richmond the call him mike he drives a saleen notch that has a turbo 32 valve cobra motor stuffed in it i can remember his website of teh top of my head though ill find it and post it up he does really good work thats what matters to me lol ne ways i will keep you guys posted on what happes with it all later

The only thing I see that stands out is the fuel pump. 150lph seems a bit small, most run a 255lph high pressure pump. That could easily be causing a lean condition/detonation.

the 150lph is fine, 255 is big enough for a supercharged v8, the 150 is the upgrade most grand nationals use. were these forged pistons in this car? if so could it be possible that #2 injector was faulty too much or not enough fuel?

not really

it didnt show any signs of a lean condition i had had the shortblock in the car for almost 3 1/2 years and i beat on it relentlesly day in and day out. I got it out of the junkyard for 60 bucks. Yes it had the factory forged pistons in it it came out of a 88 turbocoupe.

the new setup is now a fresh longblock with light port work on the head, gutted upper and knife edged lower gasket matched to the head, stock valves, 93 mustang roller cam, 42 lb injectors, highly ported e6, rebuilt t3 has 360' thrustbearings and upgraded wheels front and back, 3 inch turndown with full 3inch exaughst to the axle with a dump, arp headstuds, commetic mls headgasket, 155lph pump

on 8 lbs it runs great

anything else it runs good till you get in the upper rpms around 4 grand its starts leanin out real bad, dont know what my fuel pressure is. i got a fpr and pressure guage to put on it so for now i just run it at 8 lbs till i get around to fixing it. 8lbs on this setup feels like 15 lbs with the old ihi setup. The car deffinately has high 12 second potential, fastest with the old setup was a 13.7 at 101mph( ragged out t3 ) anyways enough rambling

you say its a 15lph pump...the question is is...when was it last replaced? the stock pump is notorious for being junk and not flowing well after about 10 years or so...replace it with a Walbro 255...mine also runs well up to about 12psi...where it starts breaking up...its either the regulator, the pump, or timing...mine has a MSD coil and possibly a MSD TFI module(cant really see to tell)...I've been considering replacing that stuff with stock stuff(dont really trust MSD stuff from prevous bad experiences) another suggested buy...a wideband...I'll be doing both these myself within the next couple of months o I can see whats really going on

Fuel pump or injector for that Cyl. i would swap all the injectors out, or atleast that one and see if it helps.
