My car is making a wierd noise/whine/squeek it seems to be coming from the rear, at first i thought that it was the shocks then i replaced them and it was still there then i thought it might the quad shocks so i replaced them also and the whine is still there any thoughts?. what parts (bushings, bearings, any thing that might cause this in the rear end,) might need to be greased/replaced

the car only does it when it it starts from a complete stop and goes away after getting to around 5mph, it doesnt do it all the time but like 85% of the time
please help

(97, GT,5spd manua,l 142,xxx, miles coupe) if any needs to know
PS i couldnt find a "wierd noise" section in the forums, so i posted it here sorry if its not in the right section

Whine=something that spins fast.Squeak=something that spins slow or has dried out.It sounds like dried out universal joints???These will squeak slowly at first and speed up as the car speeds up,to a point, then they quit.

yes i got plenty of pad still left
its not when i slow down its more when i start from a standing stop that ill hear the noise it ill stay till i reach around 5mph or its been 1-2 sec which even comes first in order for it to repeat i have to stop completly and take off

Possibly your gears? I have heard that some companys gears will whine. Did you replace your gears? and what company did you purchase them from?

control arm bushings? maybe spring isolators on top or bottom are worn out?

just trying to throw some ideas out.

mine does the same every once in a while if i hit a bump just right there is a really small squeek that kinda sounds like a bov.
