Wierdest thing to date (Electrical)

Well my car has a wiring problem, because of the former owner (who also has 3 warrants on my plates!!!). He hooked up a the car aftermarket stereo's ground to a positive on the chassis. messed up my dash lights, parking lights, door locks, and I guess the power windows. I "fixed" the ground problem and the lights. I haven't looked at the locks, but the power windows is what I am concerned about in this post. If I roll the driver side window all the way up my speakers dont make sound. Like I hit a mute button; I actually use it like that sometimes when I get a call. My stereo does not cut off and on. Acts just like a mute button

WOW! that guy worked wonders with wiring! I don't think I could make that stuff happen if I wanted to!

Does the radio display fade at all when you use the "mute"?

Maybe he has that wired into the same fuse as the PW supply. If this is the case, and he used an inferior fuse, you could just be using too much power at the window to keep up with the radio. I had a similar situation when I had U/D pulleys and stock alternator.

along the same lines as I was thinking... or maybe a speaker wire is grounding to the PW frame... but I would think that would hurt the head unit.

in any case, pull the door panel off, roll the window up and down a few times and see what's up in there.

I love "electricians"...

Perhaps the window regulator is "catching" on the speaker wiring in the door...

HAHA sorry guys I didnt have door speakers when this problem originally started. I did install some Infinitys in the door, and man that was a pain running the new wre into the door.
I will try the other things as soon as I wake up some more.
