will 30# injectors be enough for this setup?

Pretty soon I will be running the setup in my sig plus 6 (maybe 8 psi) on a 1.8L Kenne Bell and I'm wondering if you guys think 30# injectors will be enough. I found a good deal on a set, but I'm thinking if I'm gonna go bigger I might as well do 36#'ers because its a cobra and it already has 24# injectors.

With only 6psi can I just keep my 24's?

what do you guys think?

30#s will help bu ti don't think they are needed. but remember you have to retune your maf then to work with the 30#s. I was running everything in my sig except for the 331 on 24s, dynoing 390rwhp. you should be good as long as you get a good fuel pump and inline pump.

How much HP are you planning on? Say now you are putting 250 to the ground, maybe 260. Call it 260. Assuming 15 percent loss via drivetrain, thats equal to 299 FWHP. Now you are going to add 6-8 pounds of boost, roughly 60-90 HP. Call it 75. Remember, KBs don't add peak but they fill up the area under it.

So with 375 FWHP, and using this handy calculator, I reach the conclusion that you need at least 36 pounders, but I would go with 42s just in cause you want to turn up the boost and grow.

Some peeps disagree with me about injector, but I like to calculate assuming no more then 90 percent duty cycle and stock fuel pressure. I also assumed a .55 BSFC.

I'd say you need at least 36's for that boosted combo :D

That is ... if you wanna tune it with the pcm ;)
as opposed to
Elevated fuel pressure and dizzy twisting

Now ... Two things to consider here IMHO :)

1) Its been said lately, 36's can't be found
2) When going 30's and above, you'll likely need a tune

My reasoning is like Adam's :nice:

Go to 42's
