a buddy of mine is wanting me to do his 5 lug disc conversion and he said he can get the axles/brakes out of a 94 but for some reason cannot get the whole rearend.......will the axles fit in his rearend??

vristang said:When I put the sn95 rear in my 90 GT I was told to get the sn95 wheels for their backspacing. I never did measure it out to see how the fox wheels would have fit, but the sn95 wheels fit well in my fender wells.
I would imiagine that you should do the same with the wheels, but I can't say that it is absolutely necessary.
Good luck
Shakerhood said:He will be going to 5 Lug with the switch and will have to use SN95 Wheels. There is no such thing as 5 Lug Fox Wheels! I love the way my car looks with the slightly wider axles, tires fill out the wheel wells much better!

Shakerhood said:All he needs to do is stick with any Stock SN95 Wheel and he will be fine, I have Bullitts on my car!

vristang said:In the front as well?
How did you do the 5 lug conversion up front?
i have never heard of anyone doing a 5 lug conversion in the back only!vristang said:In the front as well?

vristang said:I guess a little clarification is necessarry.
I was not trying to ask if he had done a 5lug conversion on the back and not the front. I was trying to ask about the backspacing.
I don't see why the Bullitts would not be available in fox body backspacing, but it is possible that they aren't.
When I did my front I used sn95 spindles and fox body wheels. It sounded like Shakerhood had done something different to use sn95 wheels up front (and I think he did).
Maybe I am the one that is different for using fox wheels?
I don't know how sn95 wheels would fit because I am already very close to rubbing on the inside well.
By fox wheels I mean fox body backspacing.
Shakerhood said:What in the world kind of wheels are you running? My point somehow got taken way out in left field, if you do a SN95 Brake Conversion, then use SN95 Wheels, there are lots to pick from! Bullitts are 5 Lug and were never offered on a Fox body Car!

vristang said:I feel like I am not expressing myself well and I apologize because it seems to be getting you all wound up.
No, the bullitts were not offered from the factory on the fox body. That does not mean that an aftermarket wheel manufacturer did not produce bullitts with fox body backspacing. I am trying to verify that you have the same setup up in front as I do, except that you are running sn95 wheels and I am running fox body backspacing wheels.
As I understand it the ford 5lug kit has standard sn95 spindles. If so, then the only fundamental difference between your setup and mine is that I am using fox body backspacing.
What year is your car, maybe that can account for sn95 wheels clearing your fenders and not clearing my fenders?
Have you lowered the car?
The point of confusion for us seems to be that I call any wheel that uses fox body backspacing, a fox wheel. That means that by my definition a Bullitt wheel with fox body backspacing (whether 5 or 4 lug) is a fox wheel. Maybe we are defining the same term differently?
Shakerhood said:I am not wound up at all, yes my Kit used 94/95 Spindles, Yes the car is lowered about 3/4" with the Bullitt Suspension, no it does not rub anything. I just cant understand the purpose of putting SN95 parts on your car and then putting a different backspaced wheel on, instead of sticking with what you know works in SN95 wheels. Maybe you have 96-98 front spindles which are slightly wider than the 94/95, or even worse 99-04 Spindles, if you look at your spindles your Part Number should begin with F4 or F5, then you will know they are 1994 or 1995 Spindles.

txstang84 said:same here, i put Bullitts on my '84 with '95 spindles, 17x8 shod with 245/45's...the only time i have rubbing in the front is if i crank the wheel all the way one direction, and it's not obnoxious rubbing....just a hair
the back's bolted right up with the same rim and i could still put them in another 1/2-3/4" if i wanted to...if i had an sn-95 axle out back, i'd run 17x9 Bullitt's-
at any rate, the backspacing shouldn't be any deeper than 6" (i believe) if you're going to run a sn-95 axle width on a fox mustang...
