will 94 axles fit into an 86 rear end?

First, sorry for reviving a thread that had pretty much died, but I do have a Q on this subject, and wanted to here from the other posters in this thread.

I finally checked my wheel dims and looked at the part number on my uprights. They are 94 uprights (F4...). My front wheels have an offset of 24 and the rear of 36.

I have a sn95 rear end with sn95 axles paired with the 36 offset wheels. I did not have to hammer the outer fender lip much until I put in the 275 tires on the 17x9 rear wheels. I still have the quad shocks in place, and have not needed to reverse them since clearance is not an issue on the inboard side.

In the front I have 255s on 17x9 wheels (24 offset). I have had to hammer quite a bit on the outer fender to get clearance, and they still rub slightly when I hit a bump on a hard corner. At full turn the tires do rub very slightly on the inner fender liner (inboard FWD side), just enough to leave a clean spot.

Is this different than what most people do when they convert their brakes. Are my rubbing issues due to having the wrong parts somewhere? If I can change out some parts to improve tire clearance, that would be nice.
