will a ford dealer ..

nope. theres no way to do it with an IDS because it was not an as built option. on some years they can, i think 07 or 08+.

in CA we cant because it violates smog laws, since you are changing the operating RPM of a vehicle when putting it on a smog dyno.

like an sct one. casue i got an sct tuner but it mess with my auto trans (keeps the tc lock ) and all i wanna do is change for 373 without messing with timing or the trans

plus why would you have it done at a Ford dealer? i know we charge a stupid high amount of labor on gear installs. the quality of the work is high. and we have all the proper tools, but still its too high even at an employee internal rate.

no the gears are all ready in (ford wanted 800 just for labor) i got it done at a mustang shop. the only problem is for some reason my sct sf3 wont let me just change the gear ratio with out changing the trans press and **** points . i am not drag racing it or anything like that so the granny shift press is fine for me. i just want to change the gear ratio with out change anything else

ARE you serious?? you cant even do gear swap in CA anymore... Why would anybody live in that state..

Find a local tuner that works with the SCT setups and ask them. They should be able to tell you how to do it or change it for you in a custom tune. You could also try giving SCT a call on their tech line and they might talk you through it.

theoretically yes, becuase when doing the dyno smog test you have to stay within a specific RPM range in 2nd gear at 25mpg. changing gear ratios can make you shift into 3rd which is an automatic fail on a manual car...

that being said its not part of the smog check, nor does it apply to my car.

:notnice:

I am praying that crap does not spread to other states
