Will an 8.8 housing out of a 87-93 Fox fit my Cobra?

Found an 8.8 for sale locally that is supposed to be in good condition out of an 88 Fox. The gears in my Cobra are noisy, and it would be nice to be able to buy this housing and build it up to swap in my Cobra. Is the bare housing the same? I know the axle shafts are different lengths.

The axle shafts are shorter yes so by extension so are the axle tubes. The wheels will sit quite far under the body with that axle. It should more or less bolt into place using stick-axle control arms and hardware.

OK thanks, I wasn't sure about it, and I didn't have time to crawl under my 91 and 99 to compare.
