I have a 65 Mustang GT coupe, it has a 3.00 rear gears (posi), I have 302 motor with AFR Renegade 165 heads, Anderson N41 cam , air gap intake with 650 Holley. I have a a C4 transmission with forward manual valve body. I am thinking of going with a set of 3.55 gears . Will this change give me a seat of the pants feel or should I go with 3.80 gears. Car will mostly see just local cruising , maybe some short highway time. What does everyone think

You will feel the difference with the 3:55, do you have stock size rear tires on?

I went from 3.08 to 3.45 in my 1984 Mustang GT and I definitely felt the difference.

Yes. You will feel the difference.
As @Blackhawkxx noted…tire size is a consideration as well.

3.80 will definitely scoot along light to light. 3.50 I think is better for cruising.
