Will I get anything outta this crap?

Well, don't have much I can do to my car and keep it naturally aspirated so I was thinking about these little things. I was wondering if anybody has any expierence with them.

Motorvation Throttle Body Spacer (basically the tornado thing)

Caspers Electronic Throttle Body Enchancer

A/C Eliminator, Eliminate Smog, Condenser etc.

Trickflow 3/8" Spacer

and that about does it, it is cheap and according to all the descriptions on each product I should have an additional 50hp  :p

I was wondering if anybody has any expierence with this stuff, or if I should get it and fill everybody in.

Thanks Alot

If you get 50hp from those mods, I will eat my own ass. :rlaugh:

Those TB spacers and stuff are just snake oil. Removing the A/C and smog will save some weight off the nose of the car but the A/C only sucks power when its on so there is no real HP gain by losing it.

The only one that is somewhat noticable is bypassing the emission pump. If you have a/c then you can just run a a shorter belt and bypass the smog pump. If not, then you will have to get a pulley in place of the pump.

You can run without A/C or emissions by bracketing the power steering pump to run from where the A/C used to.

Also, even when A/C is on, I am under the impression that it cuts out so that under WOT the A/C doesn't draw any power.

Pulling the A/C off is actually pretty nice weight savings. The compressor is heavy and with all the lines, it adds up to about 70lbs off of the nose of the car.

My opinion is go w/ a phenolic spacer, It definately helped keep my upper intake cooler. And when i say cooler i mean teh difference between not being able to touch it after running around in my car to working on it as soon as i pull the parking brake and get out.

The tornado and that spacer, just crap from what I've heard. I can't say I have had any expereince with it or know anyone who has. Maby people have but no one is brave enough to admit it. If they really did what they claim they do, they would come stock.

The throttle enhanser is actually a device that when the TPS hits 60%, it sends out a WOT reading. Someone who frequents this site (can't remember who) has one and says it does improve throttle response, and I am sure it would. HP gains, I don't think so.

Eliminating the smog pump and A/C gave me a suprising SOTP gain, and it showed at the track. I think it's really the weight reduction. The compressors on foxes are now light like many new cars. If your's works and it's a D/D, keep it but otherwise scrap it. Also, deleting P/S and going to a manual rack saves a lot of weight and frees up a considerable power, and an electric W/P is a good gain as well. Not to mention all this cleans up the engine bay.

The spacer, reduces heat to the upper intake, colder air is better for making power.

thanks for the response 90mustangGT

My A/C is dead and needs to be rebuilt, I am just taking it off to save weight, same with smog... I am hoping by losing all that I can lower times. But even if that Tornado thing saves gas mileage, it would be great.

But I will save the money, thanks guys

Delete it. Even if you put on a new compressor, the R12 is very expensive, hard to find. R134a properly retrofitted will work but will not cool near as well in a R12 system because R134a requires much higher pressures. Also, when a compressor goes bad it usually spits debris into the system which can clog passages and acts like a sandblaster to the new compressor, shortening it's life. So basically, the right way is to replace the whole system, expensive, does not add power!
