Will the airbags blow if the airbag light is on?

Just out of curiosity, will they still blow if your throwing a code? or is the whole thing disabled. I'd probaby be a lot happier if they didn't blow, that way if I get in a fender bender they won't total my car because of the airbag system, lol.

unplug the battery and see if it goes away... i doubt that an airbag light has anything to do w/ ur airbag going off

best guess would be a new censor.

If the light is on then most likely the air bags will not deploy in an accident.

It probably depends on the reason the light is on. Some codes are just for faults the system has seen and are no longer valid.
