Will these rims work for what i need them to do?

Hey guys, i want to get 2 rims to put drag radials or street slicks on so i can run them just at the track, i have major traction issues and my dad gave me the suggestion to get these 2 cheap rims and put tires on them, put them on at the house and then drive to the track. They are made by Bart? and they are the stockcar rims that are 15 by 7 or 15 by 8? i am not sure which ones to get, here is the link to the site that they are at, scroll down the page and they are there

That doesn't look like a bad deal. You can also look on ebay to find some used rims. You may want to look at that first. A lightweight rim will better on performance than a steel rim. Less rotating weight, the more hp to the ground. Would hate to see you get good traction and drop your 60 ft. times, and then lose 1.5 mph because of the heavy rims.
Go with a 15x8. That is going to be the most recommended rims size out there for slicks. You don't want one too small or the tire will not get the biggest footprint possible.

Sure they'll work, might be kinda heavy but not anymore that standard steel or thick aluminum aftermarket rims. The American Racing 767's are another popular econorim which come in various sizes and backspaces. You want an 8" wide rim with 4.5" of backspacing to fit the largest tire possible. You can fit 9" of tread width or 10.5" of section width between rolled 65/66 fender lips and stock leaf springs with that backspacing.

do u guys have a tire that you would recomend to fit that rim? i want it to be a street slick or drag radial, so i can drive it "legally" to the track...

browse through any of the catalogues (Jegs, summit, any of the mustang websites, etc). The street legal drag racing tires will be indicated as such.

I run an et street which is street legal. It hooks pretty damn good. Although it is 11.5 wide and requires a 10 in rim. It has a 9.9 in footprint or there abouts
