I am converting my rear brakes to disc in my 1989 notchback and today i saw a rear end from a Lincoln LSC with disc brakes and was wondering if this would work in my car. I am not sure whether it is a 8.8 rear end. thank you
yeah I think they are wider too. I think 3/4 on each
side for a total of 1.5" or even more cause I seem to
think it was even wider(more of a difference) 87-88 T coupe
is the ideal one. If you want 4 lug, disc brakes 8.8.
The Mark VII is a 8.8, without quads and SOME have traction loc, but most don't. It is 1.25" wider each side. The 8.8 housing is the same width as the Mustang, the extra width is in the axles and brakes. You can modify the brake brackets and use them with the Ranger axles for an inexpensive 5 lug disc conversion that is the same width as the Fox cars, like what I have. You can also use it with stock 4 lug axles if you redrill the rotors. See Matt's website for more disc and 5 lug info: http://svo73mm/cjb.net Here is a link to the Mark VII modification page: http://home.pacbell.net/black306/tech/reardisc.html
