Just curious- but why did you go through all that when the WP you purchased actually has the idler pully on it, which you could have routed the belt on it, instead of buying the cheaper WP without the idler pulley and saved yourself 70-80 bucks?
Would it be 66.5 length to delete smog and a/c from a 86 5.0 with P/s pump in stock position. Where would the tensioner mount, i was thinking on the a/c bracket when the a/c pump is removed.
its hard to say a belt size man every car has variables...the best way to do it is to take a huge string or something of the likes tape it to a pulley and route it around all your pulleys your using and where it over laps make a mark with a marker then take the string off lay it on the ground and measure it

Yeah, if I would have know I was going to end up routing the belt like this, I would have got the pump that doesn't have the idler. When I ordered it, I was planning on keeping the delete pulleys for the smog and A/C.

I think it will pump more water thought the system at idle than the belt driven pump, and probably not as much at high RPM's. I guess I am not sure what the stock one pumps, but this electric one is rated at 55 GPM.
There was an article recently in one of the mustang mags that had dyno numbers on putting an electric pump on. It picked up power at every RPM, and at 6000 rpm I want to say it picked up about 10 - 15 rwhp. I'll have to see if I can find that article.
Hopefully I don't need more alternator/battery power. I think the water pump draws about 11 Amps. I don't really have anything for a stereo but the stock stuff, so I think I will be OK. I'll just have to find out the hard way.
I paid $430 for the unit from summit. They also sell one without the idler pulley for about $60 less. I would have bought that one, but I didn't know I was going to route the belt this way till I actually started to put it on.
