While re-installing the windows during the rebuild of my '68 Coupe, there's a 1/2" gap at the top of the driver window. The vent window lines up perfectly, as do the doors and I have all new weatherstrip. What am I missing? Is there an adjustment on the regulator I don't see?

There's several points for adjustment in fact. I don't recall the exact procedure but the shop manual calls out for loosening specific bolts and then rolling your window up square with the weatherstripping and then while holding it in place, tightening several bolts....something or another along those lines. I had to fight mine a little bit but if you look in the shop manual there's a full detailed procedure for all the adjustments

+1 .... you have to get inside the door frame to gain access to all of the adjustment bolts .... the window guides move in-out (left-right) and it's a fair amount of trial and error .... the shop manual does address how to do this ..... if you had to replace the vent window/frame unit then you had to undo several of the alignment bolts .... I've shyed (is that a word?) away from this, so good luck --you'll get it in the end .... just keep goofing with it ....

Thanks for the replies, guys. I had to take the windows out to paint the car and there's apparently more to the reassembly than I thought. I wish now I had paid more attention to the location of any adjustment bolts. It sounds like if I had a shop manual, it would help a lot, but I don't. At least now I have an idea what to look for.

Thank you much.

You may also want to look at the window "stops". These are bolted into the window slides and when set correctly stop the window movement up and down at the correct point. Maybe one is set to low which is causing your window not to go up completely.

Thank you. In looking at other 68 pictures, I see that the top of the vent chrome continues across to the top of the glass chrome. I'm wondering if maybe my vent widow is mounted to far down.
